CONCEPT

As a Pakistani-Canadian photographer, my work has been a celebration of cultural beauty and high fashion. Initially driven by a love for my cultural heritage, I began capturing high fashion themes infused with Pakistani and other cultural influences. This evolved into shooting for brand events and Western high fashion, where both styles significantly influenced each other. The gallery was conceived as a platform to showcase these intertwined styles to both Western and South Asian demographics, an endeavor I hadn't seen attempted before.

Moodboard

Together with my team, we chose a deep maroon, black, and chrome color scheme to set a sophisticated tone for the gallery. The overall vibe was intended to be moody and dramatic, aligning with the moodier aspects of my photographic work. We created a mood board that encapsulated these ideas, which guided the entire aesthetic of the event.

Working with the space

After scouting several locations, we selected a venue that, while featuring exposed industrial ceilings that initially didn’t fit our vision, turned out to be perfect. We transformed the space by draping fabrics strategically around the venue, adding an element of drama and creating designated photo op areas that enhanced the gallery's dreamy and romantic feel. Auram Studios played a crucial role in achieving this atmosphere by assisting in the decor shopping and setup, focusing on elements like pillar candles to amplify the ambience.

Collaboration and Marketing

In partnership with Zahee PR & Co, we ensured that the event was not only about viewing art but also experiencing it. The event was marketed as exclusive and private, with carefully planned content opportunities for attendees, such as a full-length mirror and multiple photo ops. This strategy aimed to appeal to the influential guests and brands involved, providing them with unique takeaways and fashion products.

Event Success

Originally anticipated to host around 60 people, the gallery's appeal exceeded expectations, attracting about 150 attendees, including passersby intrigued by the event. This turnout underscored the gallery's success and the public's interest in a culturally rich, fashion-forward art experience.
